Shelby Futch, Founder & CEO

Shelby Futch, Scottsdale Golf Group CEO, got an early start in golf. The work ethic and dedication he learned has helped him become a successful player, student, instructor, Green Beret, and manager of people. He played collegiately at Oklahoma State University and on numerous professional tours including the PGA Tour. He won the 1975 Illinois PGA Championship and was inducted into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame in 2013. Over the last five decades he has owned and operated nearly a dozen golf course properties, a chain of golf retail stores, and a successful golf club fitting and manufacturing company.

While serving as an instructor for the Golf Digest Schools, he founded the world famous John Jacobs’ Golf Schools. Shelby has been recognized by, and written for, Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and Golf Tips and is honored as one of the world’s top instructors. He has produced two series of golf instructional videos, was featured in the book Golf Gurus, and has appeared on The Golf Channel’s Golf Academy Live. As an international ambassador for golf instruction, he is a frequent guest speaker for both the Hong Kong and China PGA Tours. He also served voluntarily as coach of the NJCAA National Champion Scottsdale Community College golf team.

A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Gordon Petrie brings more than 30 years of finance, legal and human resources experience to the Scottsdale Golf Group. He has held several senior management positions with multinational corporations in manufacturing, hospitality and mining industries in the United States and Canada. His experience also includes a big four CPA firm in Toronto.

Prior to joining the Scottsdale Golf Group, Gordon owned his own financial services consulting firm in Scottsdale. He is currently a member of numerous financial organizations in the US and Europe as well as the Board of Directors of the Greater Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club.

Todd’s career spans more than 30 years of hospitality and golf operational experience, beginning in 1988 with Hilton Hotels Corporation. Todd has held various roles in senior management, brand management, property operations, as well as ownership of multiple lodging assets. He has operated every form of hospitality asset ranging from large golf resorts to small historical inns. His expertise includes corporate oversight, asset operation, project development, project construction, project renovation, project pre/post consulting, project rebranding, in both the franchised and independent channels across North America and Canada. Todd has been recognized for his hospitality and operational excellence throughout his career, including Oregon Hotelier of the Year, World Award Winner with Choice Hotels International and Hotel of the Year with Red Lion Hotels Corporation. His dedication and commitment to excellence are second to none. Todd is a two-time world champion and inductee of multiple halls of fame for his athletic excellence.

Marc Boggia, Managing Partner & Golf Investments

Marc has been a proud member of the British PGA for over 30 years and has spent his entire career in the golf business. He worked personally with John Jacobs’ for over five years and became the youngest lead instructor for John Jacobs’ Golf Schools & Academies. In 1993 he became the managing partner of the Asian market for John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and was the first Western golf professional to reside in China.

Marc was involved in brokering the first US/China golf course purchase in 1995. Additionally, he was the founder and managing partner for Central Golf Indoor Precision Learning & Club-fitting Centers in Hong Kong and Beijing in 2002, working with both Western and Chinese golf professionals. He is the managing partner for the China Golf Challenge a made for TV golf event. He continues to spend much of his time building and strengthening business relationships in Asia for both John Jacobs' Golf Schools and Scottsdale Golf Group investments.
